2017 is nearly here, and it’s time to get ready to celebrate! We know staying out late with the littles can be tough, so these daytime and early evening events are perfect for the whole family!  

Some of our favorite spots haven’t released their events at time of posting- check back frequently as we will add more events to this list!


Bielenberg Sports Center’s New Years Eve Family Celebration (Woodbury) | 12/31 from 6-9pm, $8 pre-registered & $10 at the door  Bielenberg Sports Center will be filled with fun inflatables, huge moonwalks, obstacle courses, bingo, ice skating, Gaga pit, music and so much more to make this evening a fun night for all! Door prize drawings will be held at 8:30 p.m. followed by the big countdown to 2016. Tickets must be purchased for all participants ages 3 and older. This event typically sells out before Dec. 31- early registration is recommended. Recommended for families with children under 12.

Buck Hill New Years Eve Party (Burnsville) | INFORMATION COMING SOON!


Celebration on Ice (Roseville) | Bring your family, meet your friends, or just come by yourself to the Roseville Skating Center for the Midwest’s largest skating party. Skate indoors or outdoors on the 110,000 square-foot skating surface which boasts four hockey rinks for the rink rats or skate leisurely on the Olympic-size OVAL. Enjoy door prizes, concessions and the company of other winter-loving skaters. New Year’s Eve on Ice is a great way for the entire family to have fun and stay safe. 


Family New Year’s Eve Party at Edinborough Park (Edina) | 12/31 from 5-8pm, $10.50/child (12 months – 12 years), Adults free with paid child Celebrate the new year dancing with your kiddos in the Great Hall and playing at the Adventure Peak indoor playground! Snap a family picture in the photo booth, too! Party hats and noise makers provided for kids. Countdown to the New Year at 7:00pm. Pre-register by Dec. 30th.

New Year’s Eve Party at Lebanon Hills Regional Park (Eagan) | 12/31 from 5–8pm, $10/person. Tickets at the door only. Ages 5 and younger are free. Bring your whole family to ring in the New Year at the 11th annual New Year’s Eve Party at Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Enjoy candlelight hiking, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding a lit hill, bonfires, live animals, a DJ dance party, storytelling, magic, a ball drop and more at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center. More than 1,200 luminaries will light more than 2 miles of hiking and snowshoeing trails. Free parking is available onsite or at Woodcrest Church (525 Cliff Road) with a free shuttle to and from the event. Hot concessions will be available to purchase.Bring your own sled, ice skates and snowshoes. Snowshoes rental will also be available for an additional fee. The last rental goes out at 7 p.m. Dogs, except for assistance and guide dogs, are not permitted at the event.

Nokomis East Neighborhood Association (Minneapolis) | 12/30 from 5-7:30pm For the 17th year, NENA and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will be holding the annual Night Before New Year’s Eve party. Enjoy food, games and music and bring in the New Year with your friends and neighbors.  This year they will have games for the kids, marshmallow roasting stations outside, music, art projects, prizes, and even a fortune teller to help you plan your new year.  There will be a countdown at 7:15 pm to 2017.

Noon Years Eve at Como Zoo (St. Paul) |12/31 from 10-1 AND 1/1/17 from 10-1 Choose between events on December 31 & January 1. Interactive DJ Kidspace will bring tunes, contests, and fabulous prizes! Craft making, special animal enrichment, giveaways, and a countdown to noon with hundreds of beach balls dropped from the ceiling.

Twin Cities Moms Blog Noon Years Eve at Pinstripes (Edina) | 12/31 from 1oam-12pm Do your kids love to celebrate the new year but can never make it until midnight? Or maybe you aren’t brave enough to keep them up (we may fall in that category!)? Join us for our Noon Years Eve event on December 31 at Pinstripes Edina for a family celebration that won’t leave you with exhausted kids the next day! Families will enjoy all the fun of Pinstripes (bowling, bocce, etc.) along with activities provided by our sponsors! Food, desserts, giveaways, goody bags, and a giant 2 story balloon drop will round out our morning of fun!
