This is month #7, again with no shortage of activities! We’ll update with new additions as they come.

June 1-5

July 2-4: Eagan’s July 4th Funfest | Various Times Celebrate the 4th of July with food and lots of fun for the whole family, including a carnival, parade and fireworks!

July 2: VetsFest | 11am – 6pm VetsFest is a Free Family Friendly Event Featuring LIVE Music, Vintage Warplane Flyover, Vietnam Era Huey Helicopter Landing and food trucks and vendors!

July 2-4: Richfield 4th of July | Various Times Celebrate the 4th of July with food and lots of fun for the whole family, including Family Night, a street dance, parade and fireworks!

July 2-4: Coon Rapids 4th of July Celebration | Various Times Celebrate the 4th of July with lots of fun for the whole family, including live music, food, bingo and kids’ activities!

July 2-4: City of Chanhassen’s 4th of July Celebration | Various Times Celebrate the 4th of July with lots of fun for the whole family, including carnival, water wars, bingo, kids parade, and fireworks!

July 3: Anoka’s Annual Fireworks | Dusk/10pm The annual fireworks light up the sky on Sunday, July 3! The best viewing is from Castle Field at 600 Castle Field Blvd./-7th Ave.

July 4-10: Lakeville’s Pan-O-Prog | Various Times A week of fun for the whole family kicking off with fireworks, a carnival, bingo, food, and more!

July 4: Rosefest | Starts 1pm Celebrate the 4th of July with lots of fun for the whole family, including carnival activities, inflatables, puppets, food, and fireworks!

July 4: Stillwater’s 4th of July Fireworks | Starts 6:15pm Celebrate Independence Day in an all-American historic river town! Stillwater puts on a huge fireworks display over the St. Croix River offering views from anywhere downtown. New this year will also be entertainment of live bands in the park and civil war cannons. FREE.

July 4: Lake Minnetonka 4th of July | Starts 7:30am Celebrate the 4th of July with lots of fun for the whole family, including music, sand sculpture, kids’ parade, and fireworks!

July 4: Independence Day Celebration | 10am-5pm Celebrate our nation’s independence with activities that showcase what life was like in the early 1800s. Hear the roar of cannon salutes, watch military dress parades, enjoy patriotic and military fife and drum music, and try your hand at historic games like “egg races.”

July 4: Afton 4th of July Parade | Noon Start Celebrate the 4th of July with lots of fun for the whole family, including food, drinks, music, and trolley rides!

July 4: Rock and Rockets at Mystic Lake | 5-10:30pm It’s a star-spangled day of music, food, fun and fireworks! Celebrate America’s birthday at our fun-filled festival featuring live music, popular local food trucks, fireworks and more!

July 7: Marketfest in White Bear Lake | 6-9pm Marketfest is a free family festival held in beautiful downtown White Bear Lake with a wide variety of food, merchandise, art, handcrafted goods, and activities for children including a petting zoo and games. FREE.

July 8-9: Vintage Fest America | Various Times A family-friendly event, Vintage Fest offers great antique festivals bringing top antique and re-purpose vendors together in one location to make the shopping experience a life long memory. Antiques-Vintage-Music-Food and Beverages and the best vendors in the Midwest.

July 9-10: Dragon Festival | 10am-5pm Dragon Festival is a two-day event that takes place at Lake Phalen in St. Paul, MN in July, celebrating the diversity and culture of Asia. FREE.

July 9: MN Scottish Fair and Highland Games | 10am-8pm Get a taste of Scotland and all it has to offer right here in the Twin Cities!

July 9: Family Art Day | 11am-4pm Get creative by making different kinds of art inspired by history and nature. Visit art stations around the site, take a peek inside the historic buildings, have a picnic, play old-fashioned games on the lawn and stay for the Mendota Day parade. FREE.

July 9: Second Saturday @ Coldwater Spring | 10am – 1pm July’s Second Saturday will explore the native pollinators of our park. Prairie landscapes, like that of Coldwater Spring, all depend on native bees, bugs and butterflies to thrive. Come on down to Coldwater to learn from NPS rangers about the different pollinators that live in our park, their food sources, and how you can be a pal to these important insects. FREE.

July 9: Anoka’s Riverfest and Craft Fair | 9am-5pm Anoka Riverfest has something for everyone. Spend a great day in historic downtown Anoka browsing booths or enjoying free, live music on two stages, a food court with all your favorite fair foods, family activities, and more. FREE.

July 12: Songs for Kids and Grown-Up Kids | 10am A performance by Rachael Kroog at Caponi Art Park in Eagan featuring interactive music and educational animal show with an emphasis on kindness. $5 per family.

July 12: Summer Tuesdays in Stillwater | 5pm Head to Lowell Riverfront Park for music, food, and fun. First-rate movies at dusk for the entire family – bring a blanket/chairs to sit on the grass or anchor your boat for viewing from the water. FREE.

July 12-16: Rondo Days | Various Times Spend the day experiencing the exhibits, music, food, and parade of Rondo Days–a celebration of the heart of St. Paul’s African American Neighborhood.

July 13-17: Maple Grove Days | Various Times Five-day city festival hosting over 40 events for all ages; car show, art fair, races, business expo, parade, music. Fun for families; children’s run, kids parade, diaper derby, entertainment, outdoor movie. Inflatable rides and booths from local community organizations. Teen fun in capture the flag and duct tape contest.

July 13-17: Ramsey County Fair | Various Times A small town county fair in the middle of the big city! FREE.

July 14: Marketfest in White Bear Lake | 6-9pm Marketfest is a free family festival held in beautiful downtown White Bear Lake with a wide variety of food, merchandise, art, handcrafted goods, and activities for children including a petting zoo and games. FREE.

July 15-17: Highland Fest | Various Times Highland Fest marks summer’s mid-point with a place to gather with friends and neighbors, with so many great activities there is sure to be something for everyone. The line up for the weekend includes live music, a beer tent, the juried art fair, a petting zoo, wiener dog races, the business fair, Home Expo inflatable rides and games, the 5k road race and an exciting array of food and beverage vendors, community picnic, a meat raffle/bingo, Zumba in the park, wine tasting, movie in the park, the book mobile, a yoga class and the inaugural All Ford Car and Truck Show.

July 15-17: Middle Eastern Festival | Various Times Bring the whole family! There’s something for everyone at the St. George Middle Eastern Festival, including a kids’ tent featuring mini-golf, inflatable slide, and face painting.

July 16-17: AirExpo | Various Times Don’t miss your chance to see these heroes of the skies and their amazing airplanes!

July 16: Burnsville’s International Festival | 3-9pm Join us at the nineth annual International Festival of Burnsville in Burnsville’s Nicollet Commons Park to celebrate Burnsville’s rich cultural diversity!

July 16: Riverfront Quest Family Tour | 1-2:30pm Explore the Minneapolis riverfront with a family treasure hunt! Participants will make a quest journal and then solve rhyming riddles and search for hidden boxes throughout the tour. The tour is designed for ages 6-11.

 July 17-19: Stillwater Lumberjack Days | Various Times Fun for the whole family!

July 20-23: Minneapolis Aquatennial | Various Times The Aquatennial is the official civic celebration of the City of Minneapolis, and it’s filled with lots of family fun including the largest nighttime parade in Minnesota!

July 21-23: Excelsior’s Crazy Days | Various Times An annual three-day sidewalk sale event where local businesses and vendors offer great deals and products.

July 22: Family and Friends Fun Day | 10am This summer, bring your kids, grandkids and friends to visit the past and experience life at the turn of the last century on our Family & Friends Fun Day. Stroll through the museum and see horse-drawn buggies and farm machinery from the good ol’ days.

July 22-24: Slice of Shoreview | Various Times Annual festival held to celebrate life in Shoreview. It features a wide variety of family-oriented activities including a carnival, parade, art and craft fair, food vendors, various displays and demonstrations, talent show, lots of entertainment and of course, fireworks on Friday and Saturday night.

July 22-23: Twin Cities Carifest | Various Times Twin Cities Carifest’s purpose is to expand awareness of the culture of the Caribbean through music, food, dance and the arts. Enjoy the Islands without leaving the state.

July 28: Marketfest in White Bear Lake | 6-9pm Marketfest is a free family festival held in beautiful downtown White Bear Lake with a wide variety of food, merchandise, art, handcrafted goods, and activities for children including a petting zoo and games. FREE.

July 29-31: Little Canada Canadian Days | Various Times A family-friendly event celebrating the city of Little Canada!

July 31: Rice Street Festival Parade | 1-5pm This will be held at Rice and Lawson fields! This event will be great for kids of all ages! There will be pony rides, inflatables, organizations making crafts with the children and much more!

Groovin’ in the Garden: Wednesdays 6-8pm, June 15 – August 3 | While the grownups get their groove on with some of the Twin Cities best bands, the kids will be entertained by a climbing wall, bouncy house, and lawn games. Food, ice cream treats, beer and wine will be available to purchase. FREE.

Story Time Trolley in Stillwater: June 4 – October 29 |  This event for families includes a short ride on the trolley with an author or storyteller! Your $5 registration includes a token to board the trolley, a discount for 20% off a children’s book the day of the event and a snack after your ride.

Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs: Through September 5 | Get a rare, up-close look at nearly 20 mummies from ancient Peru and Egypt in this stunning new exhibition, developed by the world-renowned Field Museum of Chicago. Featuring one of the largest collections of mummies in North America, Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs lets you see how modern technology has revealed intricate details about the lives and customs of these ancient people. Saint Paul is one of only four cities on this exclusive tour. Don’t miss it!

Dinosaurs @ MN Zoo: May 28-September 5 This summer, bring your family to the Minnesota Zoo, where amazing lives and dinosaurs roam! See life-like Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Allosaurus and more. You can even snap a selfie with a T. rex. The Zoo is the only place your family can experience dinosaurs and some of their living friends who survived extinction.

Farm Babies at Gale Woods Farm: April 2 – August 27 | The arrival of spring at Gale Woods Farm means the arrival of other exciting things – farm babies! From piglets, chicks and lambs in April to a calf in June, see which animals might be there to greet you at an exciting event on the farm. See schedule for dates and times.

Three Rivers Park District: FREE Family Fun Days: Sundays | Various Times Three Rivers offers family fun at Kroening Interpretive Center or Richardson Nature Center. Discover all the fun that life in and around the river and woods has to offer. FREE.

Toddler Tuesdays at MOA Tuesdays | 10am-Noon Toddler Tuesdays is a program that provides events, free entertainment and discounts especially for toddlers. Events include special character appearances, arts and crafts, story time and much more! FREE.

Wee Wednesdays at Midtown Global Market Wednesdays | 10:30am-1pm Wee Wednesdays showcase free educational programming, fun crafts and great meal deals each Wednesday morning at Midtown Global Market!
 Dance with them, experience live puppet theater, learn to cook fun items together in the kitchen, and even pet live animals from the Como Zoo. FREE.

Kids at the Castle: Third Friday Playdates (American Swedish Institute) In the hour before the museum opens, join ASI for visual play, storytelling, music, movement and crafts inspired by ASI’s current exhibits- activities that will encourage creative minds and active hands. Recommended for ages 2-5. $5 per family. Registration not required; check in at the Information Desk by 11 a.m. on the day of the program. Adult accompaniment required.

Beauty and the Beast at Chanhassen Dinner Theater: March 4 – September 3 | Various Times The classic story brought to life at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater! Only ages 5 and up are admitted.

What’s Up Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck JonesApril 30-August 14 Explore the creative genius behind Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the hapless but optimistic Elmer Fudd. How did Chuck Jones and his collaborators create cinematic magic? Original sketches, storyboards, cels, photographs, wall-projected animated films and more tell the story of this amazing animation.

During the busy summer months, we give our hardworking Mombassadors a bit of break with event planning. All monthly events will be back in September.
