The Twin Cities has a lot to offer your family, including academic camps, athletic camps, theater camps, special needs camps and so much more. Breck Summer Programs

The summer child care program at New Horizon Academy, Camp Discovery, is your child’s passport to a summer of fun, friends, and field trips. Mini Hops

Mini-Hops Summer Camps are designed with fun and movement in mind for kiddos 4+! Campers will engage in gymnastics centered activities but will also do crafts, play games, be exposed to karate/dance/rhythmic gymnastics/cheer, build social skills, and have some free time in the gym. There will be both small and large group activities. Campers should bring a water bottle, healthy lunch, and wear comfortable clothing!

Kerfoot Canopy Tour Zip Line Summer Camp

Zip line at the epic Kerfoot Canopy Tour, and learn what it takes to be an adventure guide! Campers learn about leadership, cooperation, trust, self-confidence, personal responsibility, and individual growth. Concordia Language Villages

Concordia Language Villages, a program of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., offers language immersion programs in 15 languages: Arabic, Chinese, Danish, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. Since 1961, youth ages 7-18 have experienced the excitement and fun of an international adventure at our flagship residential language and cultural immersion programs. The Gardner School

The Gardner School is an academically-focused preschool for ages six weeks to Pre-K. In the summer, we extend our fun, educational programs past the traditional school year with Camp Gardner. Midwest School of Ballet

Midwest School of Ballet is offering a Summer Intensive (June 11th – June 15th) for ages 9-14, 9-3pm at the Performing Institute of Minnesota. In this week long session students will experience classes in ballet and modern each day, variations, choreography, folk dance and more. We are also offering a 9 week Summer Session (June 12th – Aug. 14th) in Edina (Edina Community Center), and a 6 week Summer Session (June 18th – August 3rd) in Eden Prairie (Performing Institute of Minnesota) for ages 3-14, including Adult Beginning Ballet classes.

Bell Museum Camp | St Paul Unearth a world of possibilities for the budding scientist in your life. Our camps offer kids in a fun and enriching environment that encourages them to explore their scientific passions as well as new subjects. Led by pre-service and licensed educators, Bell camps include hands on activities, planetarium visits, outdoor games, creative activities, field trips around the University’s Twin Cities campus, and much more! Chess Camp |Multiple Metro Locations This is an excellent opportunity to develop better Chess Skills in the summer! In addition to playing chess in a relaxed, friendly setting, campers will also get to play a variety of other enjoyable board games, puzzles and sport activities. What to expect:Game plays, lectures, tournaments, bughouse, blitz tournaments and physical recreation. Participants: Chess players grades K-8. Players will be divided by skill level.

Edina Summer Computer Camps – Minecraft | Edina Minecraft is a wonderful, sandbox-like gaming environment.  By utilizing Minecraftedu, our summer camp program can help beginner to advanced players develop a more collaborative and critical thinking approach while keeping all the creative elements of the original Minecraft. Grades 1-8

Edina Summer Computer Camps – Art of Creative Writing | Edina Campers will use the writing process to explore multiple genres, write for different audiences and purposes, all while gaining confidence and skills in their writing.  We will also explore digital opportunities for young authors, including online writing prompts, skill development, blogging, and self-publishing. An end of the week celebration will include an opportunity for campers to share a favorite piece from the week. Grades 4-8  

Edina Summer Computer Camps – Young Authors | Edina This camp targets young, developing writers, who love writing but have limited experience with computers or who struggle with typing. Campers will use the writing process to develop unique characters and conflicts both on paper and on the computer.  An introduction and practice of basic computer skills will be part of each day including an online writing community where students may publish their work for our private group.  The week will end with a celebration and read-aloud of campers’ favorite pieces. Grades 2-5

Girls Who Code | Multiple Metro Locations Various two week, all day classes covering a range of topics including iPhone app development, Introduction to Computer Science, Wearable Tech and Fashion Design, and Website Design & Development. Ages 10-18

iD Tech Camps | Macalester College Our flagship weeklong, co-ed experience offers courses for every interest in Coding, Game Development, Design, Robotics. Ages 7-17

Mathematics Institute Camp | Augsburg University Week long camp offering challenge and community to motivated mathematics learners. Students stay on campus in the dormitories at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Grades 7-12

Minnesota Writing Projects Camp | University of Minnesota MWP is excited to facilitate summer youth writing camps for students entering 5th through 8th grade (in fall 2018). Our enthusiastic summer camp leaders are currently practicing licensed teachers who bring energy and experience to the teaching of writing. Each camp is limited to 16 participants. The camps will run five days for three hours at a time.

Science Museum of Minnesota Summer Camps | St Paul Full day and half day options available. 5 day a week camps. Ages 3-16

Scrubs Camp | St Paul Scrubs Camps are an engaging, interactive and fun experiences open to any middle and high school student. Depending on the specific camp, students could spend 2 to 6 days exploring a variety of healthcare careers like nursing, laboratory science, vet medicine, pharmacy, and many others.  Students experience these careers through field trips and hands on activities facilitated by healthcare professionals and college faculty. Overnight for 3 days. Grades 9-12

Snapology Camps | Multiple Metro Locations Snapology of Minneapolis offers the best summer camps. Your kids will love our fun camp topics and themes surrounding STEM and video game technology. Shh, don’t tell them it’s educational! Three day camps. Ages 4-14

Adventure Camp | Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park Practice archery and survival skills, and float down the Mississippi River on rafts, and canoe and kayak on a lake. Explore areas surrounding the park on bikes, and try your luck at fishing. Equipment provided. Ages 10-12 

Minnesota Zipline Adventures Summer Camp | Henderson Join us for the awesome Zip Line Summer Camp at Kerfoot Canopy Tour. Learn what it takes to be an adventure guide, as we take campers through age appropriate zip line guide training! While campers zip line, they will also be learning about leadership, cooperation, trust, self-confidence, personal responsibility & individual growth. Enjoy new friendships, new skills and a new appreciation for the outdoors. This camp is co-ed, and will provide fun challenges for all levels of outdoor experience. Ages 11-15 

Outdoor Explorations Summer Camp | Sandstone Unleash the explorer in you! Spend a summer week roaming our forests and learn how to build fires, shoot a bow, and make a survival shelter; then find your way home using only a compass. Challenge yourself on our rock wall and high ropes course, and then relax by swimming, fishing and canoeing on beautiful Grindstone Lake. It will be a week of new adventures and excitement in the great outdoors! Grades 5-7

Quest Camp | Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park  Discover new ways to be adventurous. Gain team building and leadership skills with group challenges. Try rock climbing, slacklining, fishing along the mighty Mississippi, fat biking, geocaching, and archery. Take traditional bikes on a regional trail to get ice cream. Equipment provided.  Ages 12-15

River Rafting Camp | Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park  Explore the Mississippi River like few have had the chance to do. Build a raft and see if it floats. Explore deserted islands, go fishing, watch ospreys and great blue herons, and find your way with a GPS unit. Raft down the Mississippi on a day-long trip. Great for scouts. Ages 12-15

Rocks, Ropes, & Rafts | Sandstone Are you ready for a full week of adventure and adrenaline? Experience all the thrills of white water rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, high ropes and more at our beautiful, 640-acre campus. For extra thrills, we will take field trips to parks and rivers near Sandstone as well as to great outdoor destinations in the North Woods. This overnight summer camp is guaranteed to appeal to the adventurer in you! Grades 6-8

YMCA Teen Wilderness Camps | Multiple MNLocations  Campers start in base camp then head out on canoeing, backpacking and rock climbing trips. Sessions range from 8 days to 1 month or more. Ages 12-18

Animal Humane Society Camp | Multiple Twin Cities Locations Campers will spend their time exclusively in our shelters, receiving the one-of-a-kind animal learning adventure children can only experience at Animal Humane Society. There is so much for your child to explore and discover within AHS! Grades 3-10

Camp Como | Saint Paul Spend some time Monkeying Around with your primate pals, go for the gold in Animal Olympics, take an African Adventure without leaving Como, or try on the hat of a zookeeper or gardener in Behind-the-Scenes! Como’s camps focus on developing children’s appreciation for the natural world through play and exploration, behind-the-scenes experiences, interactions with zookeepers and gardeners, and up-close encounters with plant and animal ambassadors. Preschool-8th grade

Gopher Dairy Camp | Saint Paul This is a fun 3-day workshop for teens who want to improve their dairy cattle skills. The camp is open to all youth who have completed grades 6-9, but have not yet started 10th grade. Activities include Dairy Fitting and Showmanship Workshops, Dairy Showmanship Contest, the Gopher Gold Auction, Dairy Foods Workshop, and fun around the Twin Cities.

Vet Skills Camp | Gale Wood Farms Get an introduction to life on the farm. Find tasty treats in the garden, make your own snacks, meet the animals and hike through pastures. Learn through stories, songs and crafts. Designed for preschool-aged children who have not entered kindergarten. Reservations required. Ages 9-11

Ways of Wildlife Summer Camp | Sandstone Spend a wild week learning about caring for rehabilitated animals and exploring the lives of animals in the wild.  Get up close and personal with the animals at the Audubon Center and take animal-focused field trips to zoos, aquariums, and more! You can also traverse our high ropes course, try your hand at catching fish, and have time to cool off in Grindstone Lake during this animal-packed adventure. Grades 4-6

Wolves and Wildlife Daycamp | Stacy Adventure and fun should be a part of every child’s summer. Wolves, black bears, coyotes, foxes, skunks, lynx and raptors become the teachers during a unique week of wild fun at the Wildlife Science Center. Learn hands-on techniques used by biologists to learn about your local environment and the diversity of predator/ prey relationships. Each five day session is filled with wildlife activities, radio telemetry, archery, games and crafts. Ages 8-15

Zoo Camp | Apple Valley The Minnesota Zoo’s summer camps are entertaining, educational, and unforgettable! Participants enjoy and engage in activities and learning about the diversity of life in their specific theme-based camp. Many camps will have the opportunity to attend the Wings Financial World of Birds Show, visit Kangaroo Crossing, view live animals up close, and explore the Minnesota Zoo’s award-winning exhibits! Preschool-12th grade

Art and Creativity Camp | Bruentrup Heritage Farm Stimulate your child’s creativity! Campers discover their artistic side and let their imaginations soar. Campers get to work on a variety of fun projects and participate in the joys of making art with friends; experimenting with painting, drawing, cartooning, mixed-media, weaving, and much more! Learning about how something is made and the labor that goes into it promotes appreciation of makers and our ecological impact. We empower youth to see themselves as the makers and innovators of the future and to continue their relationship with art well after their week at the farm. Artistry Summer Art Camps | Bloomington Join Artistry for a summer full of creativity and inspiration. Choose from over 75 visual and performing arts day camps that are hands-on, engaging, educational, and FUN! Our camps offer students the chance to spend either a half day or full day with talented local artists. We also offer free lunch supervision for campers who register for both morning and afternoon session. For any families in need of assistance, there are also scholarship opportunities. Grades 1-9

MCAD Summer Camp | Minneapolis Step right up for a carnival of captivating color. This class offers students a broad spectrum of creative possibilities while teaching them the science of color mixing and composition. We’ll look at expressive paintings by Georgia O’Keeffe, Wassily Kandinsky, and Pablo Picasso. Students will explore concepts such as primary and secondary colors, complementary colors, warm and cool colors, tints and shades, and expressive colors while they draw and paint a variety of frame-worthy masterpieces including a painting on canvas. For inspiration, the class will take a mini-field trip to see artworks featuring color concepts at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Before and after care available. Ages 6-9

MacPhail Summer Camp | Multiple Metro Locations MacPhail summer camps blend high-quality instruction from experienced teaching artists with the fun and excitement of making music with other students who love music. We have camps for absolute beginners to advanced players in early childhood music, chamber music, piano, voice, composition, jazz and rock. Great for ages 3+

School of Rock Camp | Eden Praire School of Rock Eden Prairie offers a wide range of camps throughout the year to challenge, inspire and propel young musicians ages 5-18 to chase their Rock-n-Roll dreams. 

Sewing Camp | St Paul Let your child discover the wonderful art of sewing at Sewing Lounge. We have fun-filled camps where your child can learn how to sew in a motivating environment. 

Simply Jane & Artable Summer Camp | Minneapolis Come make some fabulous art with us this summer! We offer week-long sessions in a variety of media, from comic art to plein air painting to clay and art wearables – there’s something for every aspiring young artist! All classes are for ages 5+ and will be taught at each student’s own level. All classes welcome students with disabilities (with a PCA or family member if needed.) Our studio is fully wheelchair accessible!

Sing Minnesota Camp | St Paul Sing Minnesota is a week-long day camp for kids who are excited about experiences in the arts. While focusing on choral singing, campers also participate in other creative arts—drama and movement, visual arts, as well as plenty of outdoor fun and games. Sing Minnesota is hosted by Saint Paul’s Concordia University, which offers spacious rehearsal rooms, comfortable working space for visual art and a lovely space where our final performance will take place each session. Ages 8-12

Textile Center Summer Camps | Minneapolis Whether your child simply likes to play with art or is an aspiring textile artist, we offer 25 camps for ages 6–16. Plan a summer your child will remember forever!

Active Kids Association Sports Camp | Blaine We believe that being exposed to multiple sports encourages kids to try new things, meet new people, learn bigger lessons, and find healthy activities they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. Keeping kids well rounded through sport seems like such a simple concept, but competitive youth sports have become too competitive. And what gets lost is the the process is fun. FULL SUMMER includes 10 weeks of your choice out of 12 weeks of programs. There is always an option to add the remaining two weeks! INDIVIDUAL WEEK registration allows you to choose just one or any number of our 12 weeks that best fit your schedule! Grades Preschool-8

After School MN | Minneapolis Students can pick from a variety of camp options including half day, full day, one week or they can dive in for the whole summer of martial arts training. Each day will consist of martial arts classes, fitness focused games, eating healthy snack options and making lifelong friendships. Ages 5-11

Carrie Tollefson Training Camp | St Paul The Carrie Tollefson Training Camp is returning to St. Catherine’s University, July 12-15, 2018! We would like to invite boys and girls entering grades 7-12 to attend this high paced, performance driven, overnight camp. 

Championship Basketball Camp | Various Metro Locations Our goal is for each camper to improve their skills, have fun and make new friends. This allows every camper to be successful by focusing on doing their best. By emphasizing improvement, we provide a safe, yet challenging environment for each camper to develop their skills in an attempt to become a more complete player.

Fusion Martial Arts Camp | Eagan Our camp features traditional martial arts classes, life-skills education, child safety, indoor & outdoor activities, arts & crafts and science activities, ninja themed and traditional games, and quiet reading time to offer kids both exciting and fun filled days. Try one week or register for the entire summer! Ages 1st grade-12 years old.

Golden Ridges Stables Summer Camp | Lakeville Golden Ridge Camp provides each child individual attention and structured riding lessons, all while campers learn fascinating facts about their horses.  Your child will discover how to safely work with his/her horse on the ground as well as on its back in a “hands and seat on” environment.  We ride rain or shine in our safe, clean indoor facility. 

Lake Minnetonka Sailing Camp | Deep Haven These one week, full-day classes are focused on fun and learning, with curriculum appropriate for both novice and more experienced recreational sailors. Students are split into two age groups, with equipment and instruction tailored to each group. We focus on sailing fundamentals, including upwind and downwind sailing, sail trim, knot tying, and sailing terminology. With these skills, sailors will develop the ability to control their boat and adjust to different conditions on the water. Boats for these classes are provided by the school. Ages 7-12

Minnesota Twins Training Camp | Blaine Twins Summer Camps are open to baseball and softball players ages 6-14. From tee-ball to the Major Leagues, baseball is loved throughout Twins Territory, this program serves as a way for the Twins to share their passion with the thousands of players, parents and coaches who love baseball and softball as we do.

Nike Basketball Camp | Minneapolis Receive top instruction to help improve your all-around game and shooting technique in Minneapolis, MN! This camp gives players the exclusive opportunity to train with Travis Bledsoe, who has worked with WNBA players including Maya Moore, and Khalid El-Amin, a former Chicago Bulls player. Ages 8-17

PGA Junior Golf Camps | Multiple Metro Locations Half and full day camps available. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and skill level in order to create the most favorable learning environment possible. Ages 6-17

West Metro Horsecamp | Buffalo Working with understanding and riding horses help prepare you for the future. It makes you stronger mentally and physically, builds character, perseverance, ability to accomplish and many other attributes to use throughout life. Children who have time for horses very seldom have time for trouble, drugs, and other negative forces. Horses have been used for hundreds of years in physical and mental therapy. There is an endless truth to the statement “There is nothing so good for the inside of a man (woman or child) as the outside of a horse.”

Tags Gymnastics | Multiple Metro Locations TAGS offers a variety of summer camp options for boys and girls ages 3 to 17. We also offer a 10 week Summer Session of classes that runs June 4th-August 17th (closed July 2nd-6th). 

Cooks of Crocus Hill Kids Camp | St Paul & Stillwater Lights, camera, cook-off! Some of the most exciting shows for kids these days are all about battles with pots, whisks and plenty of culinary know-how. But no need to make a jaunt to the Food Network sets when Cooks will put your junior chef in the spotlight right here. We recreate three popular arenas – Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped and Cupcake Wars – that provide hands-on cooking adventures, friendly competition, and of course, fun galore. This class is a three-day series.

The Kids Cooking School | Lino Lakes Here at the Kids Cooking School, we do all the work that goes along with teaching young people to cook – we do the shopping, the teaching, practicing, burning & learning, and of course – all of the cleaning. It is our mission – and our JOY – to give your children the opportunity to develop healthy habits, self-confidence, and a positive attitude through the power of cooking. Summer camp this year starts on June 11th and ends on August 31st. That’s 11 weeks of cooking camps for ages 6 and up. We have both half- and full-day camps, as well as Friday only camps.

Children’s County Day School  | Mendota Heights Activities include swimming, pony rides, farm chores, cooking, nature exploration, stories, games, music, riding toys, and art projects.  Each age group has their own inside air conditioned space which is used for those rainy days and indoor activities.  Age appropriate materials are provided for each age group.  Farm chores include; feeding the goats, chickens, rabbits and ponies, brushing the ponies, watering and helping maintain the vegetable and flower gardens. Ages 2-17

The Children’s Farm School | West Lakeland  The Children’s Farm School offers day camps that include care of Animals, gardening, learning about nature and the environment, creative art, music, food and cooking experiences, group and individual learning experiences, outdoor play, and hikes. Farm Adventures Camp | Gale Wood Farms  Explore the farm. Venture through gardens, meet the animals, make snacks and hike through pastures. Learn through farm activities and crafts. Reservations required. Ages 6-7

Farm Camp Minnesota | Northfield,  Sartell, and Waseca Farm Camp Minnesota is organized and sponsored by farmers and agribusiness people who love what they do and want to share that passion with Minnesota youth. The purpose of Farm Camp Minnesota is to provide a fun, interactive learning experience that provides youth a connection to agriculture and their food. Farm Camp Minnesota is a one day event held in three different areas of the state. Each camper participates in breakout sessions where they get a hands on experience learning about Corn, Soybeans, Swine, Dairy, Beef, Poultry, Pollinators, Vegetables, and Farm Equipment. Ages 5-adult.

Farm Discovery Camps Farm Discovery Camps | Gale Wood Farms  Get an introduction to life on the farm. Find tasty treats in the garden, make your own snacks, meet the animals and hike through pastures. Learn through stories, songs and crafts. Designed for preschool-aged children who have not entered kindergarten. Reservations required. Ages 4-5

Farm Explorers Camp | Gale Wood Farms  Become a farmer at Gale Woods. Feed farm animals and explore the pastures. Tend to the vegetable and flower gardens, and harvest and cook with farm produce. Make crafts using a variety of resources found at the farm. Reservations required. Ages 7-9

Farm to Table Camp | Bruentrup Heritage Farm The Maplewood Area Historical Society and Oliver Hudson Kelley Grange No. 834 created a curriculum-based day camp that connects elementary aged children to agricultural history and contemporary agriculture. This opportunity at the Bruentrup Heritage Farm fully immerses students in the science, history, and fun of agriculture and provides the perfect set of activities for kids to enjoy during the summer. This four-day camp will teach students about the science of butter and ice cream, give them the opportunity to play old-time games like townball, and have fun with arts and crafts. Grades 2-5

Gibbs Farm Day Camps | St Paul Explore what is was like to farm in the pioneer days. Many half day/three days a week camps offered. Ages 6-15

Green Earth Childrens Academy | Minneapolis At Green Earth Summer Camp, we separate the weeks into the four elements to focus on these mediums in art, play, and education. After all, the four elements encompass all possibilities for projects. We repeat the elemental weeks, as there are more than four weeks of summer camp, but introduce new activities. The children plant and care for the gardens of flowers, herbs, berries, and vegetables. We take trips to the fantastic Hiawatha Park to picnic, play on the playground, and run around the grass and trees. The children learn from and enjoy the natural surroundings brimming with wildlife and all with the backdrop of the beautiful lake. Ages 3-7    

Camp Birchwood for Boys Grand Marais Choose your own adventure:  Canoeing, Hiking, Biking, Kayaking, Rock-Climbing, Fishing and Sailing are the favorites.  Each week campers will sign up indivdually for the trip they want.Between adventure trips, campers participate in the many in-camp and day-trip options.  Each day is based on the individual choice of each camper.

Camp Birchwood for Girls | LaPorte At every activity campers of all ages learn, hands-on, in a supportive and encouraging setting. Activities are led by qualified, well-trained adults who hold current certifications necessary to maintain safety at all times. Each day, campers go to the “sign up window” to choose five activities to do the following day. Every activity that teaches a life-long recreational skill offers badges to earmark each level of achievement. These embroidered patches are handed out in the dining hall and then are attached to the camper’s blue fleece Birchwood scarf (which is worn at campfire each week). Grades 2-11

Camp Lake Hubert for Girls | Lake Hubert Camp Lake Hubert offers more than 40 land, water, adventure, and challenge activities for campers of all ages.  Two, Three, or Four-week campers will have the opportunity to sign up for four activities during each activity block (a block is three or four days of activities).  This provides our campers with the opportunity to experience the widest variety of activities offered.  Of course, if you would rather focus on fewer activities throughout the session, you are welcome to sign up more than once, as long as space is available.  In addition to the activities our campers choose themselves, each cabin has set evening activities.  Evening activities give campers more opportunities to try out and perfect their skills in various activity areas around camp.

Northstar Camp | Brainerd North Star Camp is located in Brainerd, Minnesota, nestled between Rice Lake and the Mississippi River. We have over two miles of scenic waterfront property and 150 acres of forest. Various Camps available for ages 8-17

YMCA Overnight Camps | Multiple MN Locations Campers get a well-rounded experience with activities like horseback riding, swimming, ropes, kayaking, and camp fires. 3 – 26 day and single gender sessions are available. Ages 7-17

Brave New Workshop Youth & Teen Summer Camps | Minneapolis Fun is not allowed to take a summer break. That’s why we host weekly summer camps for youth ages 9-12 and teens ages 13-18. We are excited to announce some brand new offerings for Summer 2018! Highlights include half-day and full-day options, Sketch Writing Camps for both youth and teens, as well as a two-week Teen Sketch Production Intensive. No prior experience is necessary for any of our camps. All camps will start with an introduction to basic improvisation tools and games in a playful and supportive environment. Then each week’s focus will add in more complex games, playtime with scene partners, inventing memorable characters, and (of course) spontaneous fits of laughter. Chanhassen Dinner Theatre Camp | Chanhassen Students are given opportunities to explore a wide spectrum of musical theatre components including voice, movement, costumes, scenery, stage combat and more! Full and half day options available. Ages 5-18

Children’s Theatre Company Summer Camps | Minneapolis Theatre Arts Training is a process-based program dedicated to providing professional theatre experiences and education to build curious, creative and confident young artists and people. We are more interested in what happens along the journey, from the first day to the last, than in a polished product. With this focus on the education experience, our camps take place in classrooms and rehearsal halls, not on stages. Extended care and scholarships available. Ages 4-8.

Lundstrum Performing Arts Camp | Minneapolis Lundstrum Performing Arts is excited to offer three summer musical theater intensives for different age ranges. Classes in musical theater technique (dance, voice, acting, stagecraft, blocking, choreography and scene work) are taught by professional performers and teaching artists. Our musicals culminate in three performances that include live orchestra, costumes, sets and makeup. Camp of Champs | Park Rapids These 1-2 week long camps are geared to focus on respect, boundaries, and appropriate behavior and our LITE “Leaders in Training Experience” sessions for ages 12-17 focus on leadership, advocacy & transition skills. The overnight camps build confidence and behavioral skills, using high energy activities, structured learning, and abundant team opportunities. Family Foundations Minnesota is accredited with the American Camp Association. Youth build communication, trust, self-control, transition skills, teamwork, self-advocacy, and much more. Camp is an outdoor based, hands-on experience that allows children of all needs an opportunity to reach their potential. Ages 9-17 

Camp Connections | Excelsior Camp Connections is a unique summer day camp offering social skills programming combined with goal-directed therapeutic recreation activities for children ages 4 and up. Each week includes fun, theme-centered activities, outings and learning experiences.

Camp Discovery | Lake George Camp activities include swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking in Itasca State Park, arts and crafts, nature experiences, recreational games, live action role-playing games, and more. Camp Discovery also includes special evening activities. Campers participate in small group discussions and activities that focus on special interests and making a connection with others. Adults with ASD work as mentors, providing empathetic, positive role modeling throughout the week. Ages 10-17

Camp Heartland | Willow River At Camp Heartland, the stigma stops. You can say as much or as little as you want about how HIV/AIDS impacts your life and no one will judge you. And there’s a sense of relief that comes with experiencing complete acceptance. This is a home away from home where you can be yourself, share your story or blend into a group—whatever works for you. Ages 7-15

Camp Minnesota | Northern Pines Camp Fishing, pontoon rides, swimming, campfires and worship are just a few activities that fill a week. New activities include archery, tournaments, and nature crafts. Evenings include events like skit night, talent show, dance, and awards night. This camp is specifically for persons with developmental special needs. Campers need to be ambulatory and semi- to fully independent in the area of personal hygiene and grooming. Ages 16+

Camp Northstar | Willow River Camp Northstar is all about experiencing firsts that most kids take for granted. First time in the forest. First time seeing a night sky covered in stars instead of city lights. First time not having to worry about surviving while talking openly about the struggles of living in transition. Camp Oasis | Willow River The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation offers Camp Oasis in most major regions nationwide throughout the summer. Any child with medically stable Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis is invited to apply. Grades 2-11

Camp Odayin | Various MN Locations Camp Odayin provides fun, safe and supportive camp experiences and community building opportunities for young people with heart disease and their families. Grades K-11

Camp Oz | Various MN Locations Camp Oz is a program that provides a safe and fun camping experience for youth with seizures, and allows them to connect with others and try new things. Options include a traditional 5-day overnight camp experience, day camps, family camp, and regional camp. Ages 6-17

Camp Superkids | Loretto Camp Superkids helps improve the physical condition and psychological outlook of children with asthma and educates campers and their families on how to better manage their disease. Ages 7-15

In The Company of Kids Performing Arts Center | Minnetonka Step into the spotlight and come shine on stage! If you’ve been “bit by the acting bug,” come join us for an exciting adventure in theater! Young actors of all skill levels are welcome, all you need is a little curiosity and a love for performing and having fun! Our Campers will enjoy learning about acting, dance, voice & speech, stage presence, comedy, improvisation, art activities and much more.  Coupled with the guidance of our teachers, the curriculum fosters a “creative state” with which students are empowered to realize their personal and artistic potential. OneFutures | Willow River OneFutures focuses on the life skills you need to become an independent adult, including writing a resume, managing money, GED completion, job interview preparation, caring for a pet and cooking healthy meals. When you leave camp, you’ll have a roadmap and clear next steps to get you to the destinations ahead. Ages 16-22

Outdoor Adventure Skills Camp | Eastman Nature Center Explore the woods! Build a survival shelter with other campers. Start a fire using different techniques, keep it going, and taste delicious snacks prepared over it. Gain skills to navigate and overcome obstacles in the forest. Make friends and practice communicating your needs during safe, off-trail adventures away from the comforts of home. Campers must be able to demonstrate self-care skills without assistance, independently follow adult direction and safety rules, and show readiness for large group participation, including always remaining with the group. Co-taught with Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM) educators. Ages 13-18
