Sensory-Friendly AMC Movies Second and Fourth Saturday of Every Month | Times Vary AMC is proud to partner with the Autism Society to offer unique movie showings where we turn the lights up, and turn the sound down so you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! Our Sensory Friendly Film program is available on the second and fourth Saturday (family-friendly) and Tuesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month.

Sensory-Friendly Movies at Marcus Theatre Select Saturdays | 10:30am We understand that sometimes it is difficult or uncomfortable for families with special needs children to attend movies together. Marcus Theatre’s Reel Movies for Reel Needs is a specially designed program to serve families with special needs such as autism or other challenges, who seldom attend movies. Reel Movies for Real Needs creates a welcoming and comfortable environment – lower sound, lights up – where families with children who need accommodations will be able to share the experience of seeing family-friendly films at a theatre. A select first run movie is featured one Saturday each month at a convenient 10:30 AM showtime.

Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks Now-September 3 | 9:30am-4:00pm Be inspired by Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO® Bricks, an exhibition where architecture and engineering meet creative play. Not only will you see 20 of the most astonishing skyscrapers from around the world, replicated at 1:200 scale using only LEGO bricks, you can also create your own ‘tower of tomorrow.’ We’ll have more than 200,000 loose LEGO bricks on hand in construction areas, where you can add your creations to a steadily rising futuristic metropolis inside the exhibition. In addition, the Science Museum has commissioned a local LEGO builder to create a replica of U.S. Bank Stadium made of LEGO bricks that will be on display outside of the exhibit.

Whoever You Are at Stages Theatre April 20-May 20 | Times Vary This spring we bring to life the poignantly inspiring story-poem by the popular, best-selling children’s author, Mem Fox. Every day, everywhere, all over the world, “Joys are the same, and love is the same, pain is the same, and blood is the same. Smiles are the same, and hearts are just the same.” Come with us as we soar to the heart of imagination with a world-premiere musical adaptation that weaves across cultures and generations to celebrate the bond that unites us all.

Crenshaw at Stages Theatre April 27-May 19 | Times Vary This magically engaging story, proving that family, friendship and resilience are found in the heart of the imagination, will grace our Hopkins Jaycees Studio in May. Crenshaw is a cat. He’s large, he’s outspoken, and…he’s imaginary. This unforgettable creature comes into 10 year old Jackson’s life to help him and his family as they fall on hard times and may have to live in their minivan…again. But is an imaginary friend enough to save this family from losing everything? This world premiere adaptation, based on the touching book by the Newbery Medal-winning author of The One and Only Ivan, confirms that friends matter—whether real or imaginary.
