Have you discovered this new gem yet?? Your kids are going to LOVE it! The Minneapolis Airport just opened a new airplane viewing area on October 17th, and it’s pretty darn cool!
You drive right into the heart of the airport – passing planes taking off, driving under runways. Our first time driving there, I felt like I was going to get arrested for driving in the wrong area, despite checking the map before we left! But at the end of the winding road is a small parking lot with a grassy area with benches and picnic tables – the perfect size for your kiddos to run around with arms stretched out pretending they’re airplanes!
When we were there, planes were landing in front of us, and taking off behind us. The kids loved watching the big planes and the ity bity “baby” planes. But the best part is that it’s FREE! So pack up a thermos of hot chocolate, some snacks, and a warm blanket (or for date night, some wine!), and go watch your kids eyes light up as they watch the airplanes!
