Mommy Daughter Date Ideas

One of my goals of 2016 is to have more one on one Mommy Daughter date nights. Our day to day life can get busy, so having that one on one time is important to me as well as I know it is important to my girls. My girls are four and two right now so I am in that fun stage where they still think I am super mom vs when they turn into teenagers and don’t want anything to do with me……. So I have decided I better soak up this precious time while I can!

To make sure I have a few options for the girls to choose from, I put together this quick list of mommy daughter date ideas. I hope this list will give you some fun ideas to do with the little girls in your life!

  1. Shopping. Girls and shopping go hand in hand right?
  2. Go for a nature walk. Last year we went on a nature scavenger hunt in Taylors Falls and my daughter loved it!
  3. Get your nails done. Manicures, pedicures or both!
  4. Game night. Crazy 8’s and Guess Who? are a few of our favorites right now.
  5. Movie night. Pop some popcorn, cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie. Or if you would like to venture out, you could go to your local movie theater.
  6. Go out for ice cream.
  7. Picnic in the park
  8. Do a craft
  9. Spa night at home

  14. Look through Pinterest together for some crafting ideas and do them together.
  15. Visit the Animal Humane Society to see the animals. We love going to the one in Coon Rapids. My girls could sit and cuddle with the kittens all day long!
  16. Hit up a new or favorite park and enjoy running and playing at the park with her.
  17. Pottery painting
  18. The American Girl Doll Store. Both of my girls love the Itty Bitty baby section of the store. They can hold the dolls, push them in the strollers and put them to sleep in their cribs. A great spot for girls four and under!
  19. Get all dressed up in dresses and go for a fancy dinner.
  20. Go for a bike ride.
  21. Sledding or snow tubing
  22. Ice or roller skating
  23. Go to an arcade and play games.
  24. Mini golf
  25. Go to the zoo.
  26. Pick out flowers and plant them in the spring.
  27. Go to the beach and go swimming.
  28. Go to a trampoline park such as Zero Gravity or Sky Zone.
  29. Teddy bear pancakes at Zumbro Café followed by a short walk to Wild Rumpus to check out the animals. Then curl up on the chair with a good book to read together. Last but not least, finish off the day with ice cream at Sebastian Joe’s just up the street.
  30. Go to a play at the Children’s Theatre.
